Expect It!

In this writing I am speaking to those who have been called into the Ministry.

I want to go over a few things before I get to the meaning of the title of this writing. Many are called to some form of ministry.

I guess because of the Great Commission we could say that all Christians have been called to be Disciples of the Lord, although many have hearts that have been called to be evangelists, missionaries, youth leaders, and so on.

The Scripture says, Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

In this writing I am not referring to those that volunteered to fill a position in the church or to those that help out from time to time. I’m speaking of those that in their hearts have a deep-seated desire to serve God in a particular area.

If you have been called (Chosen) to serve or Chosen to Preach or Teach, then you can expect to be attacked.

You won’t see it coming and it can come from anywhere. Not only are the fallen paying particular attention to you, but they are also paying attention to the people around you.

They are looking for any and every opportunity to discourage you, make you stumble, cause you to sin, make you angry, or many other avenues to restrain your service to God and keep you from being a Godly example, even to yourself! If you have been called into a ministry, you know when you fail it eats on you from the inside out.

Without going into a long teaching on the spiritual realm, let me say this: the fallen are ever watching. Satan is not Omnipresent, but his followers are everywhere watching everything about God’s people.

What Satan does possess is a a very cunning knowledge and understanding of man since the beginning of his creation. Satan was in existence before God created the earth, and his hatred of God drives his every action and plot. Remember this from Job?

Job 1:6-8  6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

7 And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Satan and the fallen will use any avenue, and their timeline is always opportunistic to their cause. If you filled an auditorium with people that have been called into ministry and asked them if the demonic have ever tried to use their spouse, a church member, or even a follower of Christ Jesus to attempt to make them stumble, I believe everyone in the room would raise their hand! Why?

Because the fallen found a weakness in the armor of the called ones and utilized the weakness to hinder the walk and efforts of the called. I could go on and on with examples but it doesn’t matter where or when. This is what they do; their purpose is to restrict God’s Word and hinder the followers of Jesus.

Note: Go into any Church and you will find very few that are spreading the Gospel outside of the church building. Spreading the Gospel of Jesus is the just service of every saved Christian!

We have been commanded by God to go and teach all nations, making disciples of them and baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and yet we often remain silent.

Our silence is a sin of omission! Are we not told that if we will not speak of Jesus Christ to people, He will not speak of us to the Father? That’s enough of an obligation for this writing.

Attempting to explain the attacks we should expect and will endure shows the great need for us to Pray for one another. I personally pray by name for many who I know in the ministry and I often pray for all of the chosen (called) Preachers and Teachers across the expanse of God’s creation.

Prayer is our power and it brings forth the manifestation of the majesty of Heaven itself and the protections of God!

We MUST pray for each other. When we are attacked, we must pray and be still and know that God is God! Paul said in 2 Timothy that he had fought the good fight and we must do the same.

We have an obligation to God to run the race, fight the good fight, and stay the course in our calling.

We must always remember Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

This is why we were told the manner in which we have to protect ourselves in Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

We will not see the attacks coming, nor the direction from whence they will come, but if we are serving God in our calling, we should expect the attacks to come.

Keep your Faith and determination strong, and when the attacks come, allow no emotion to enter in and distract you. Focus solely on God in fervent prayer asking for the intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I pray for you all often and I covet your prayers for myself.

Please pray for all those who have been called into ministry across the entirety of God’s Creation.
